In December 2018, Bringi organized a community benefit concert in Lansing, Michigan, raising $4000 for Doctors Without Borders. Bringi composed Hymn for Broken Wings, an elegy wrought from the wrenching war-time loss of a Syrian man’s daughter. The premiere was dedicated to children trapped in conflicts and to highlight brave humanitarian efforts.

As a student in Banaras in 1981, Bringi was on the founding team that created and executed the first 3-day campus arts, literary and music festival. Bringi conceived the evocative Sanskrit name, Kashi Yatra (Pilgrimage to Banaras) for the festival, which has flourished to this day. He spearheaded the creation of the modern music program, a popular bedrock of the festival. KashiYatra has since exploded in prominence, attended by 70,000 students from 350 colleges and universities in 2022.
