Located in Boulder, Colorado, Bringi’s mission is to connect and share music to touch hearts, uplift spirits, and rejoice in the vibrancy of cross-cultural traditions.
Traversing Mumbai, Banaras, and New York in his youth, Bringi was enthralled by the reverberations of Sanskrit mantras, the expressive kaleidoscope of Indian ragas, the soaring cries of Santana’s guitar, the haunting allure of Delta blues, the spiritual quest of Coltrane, and the meditative lute suites of Bach.
When Bringi collaborated with guitarist Elden Kelly in Michigan, these influences coalesced into globally inspired roots music. As a percussionist, Bringi adapts the resonant, classical South Indian mridangam to contemporary music. “Your tasteful and skillful contribution took us to some wonderful new places” David Silver, Boulder based pianist and hang drummer.
As a composer, Bringi crafts instrumental pieces on guitar – lilting melodies, silky grooves, moving stories, inspiring spontaneous interplay, and moments of poignant discovery.
As an organizer, he showcases musical artistry to support worthy causes, such as humanitarian efforts, cross-cultural appreciation, and environmental conservation.
